Our Recruitment & Training department provides a key support role for our operational locations in ensuring that we recruit and train sufficient drivers to maintain our services to the highest possible standard.


We are looking to recruit a Theory Test Invigilator to work as part of a team within the training section of our busy Recruitment & Training Academy located at Camberwell.


As an invigilator you will be responsible for the delivery of fair and secure examinations and will do this by; -


  • Ensuring the identity and entitlement of every candidate is checked before they are allowed to take their theory test
  • Briefing the candidate on the procedures for taking the test
  • Being vigilant, remaining aware of the actions and behaviour of the candidates at all times to ensure that there is no impropriety
  • Taking immediate, appropriate action in response to candidate or technical issues
  • Ensuring that results are given to each candidate discreetly and in confidence
  • Maintaining the test centre environment so that, as far as possible, candidates are able to take their tests in a quiet, undisturbed manner without compromising the security and confidentiality of the test information


We are looking for a dynamic individual who can work under pressure on their own initiative ensuring that the tasks allocated to them are completed to a high standard and you will, in addition to the above, be responsible for; -


  • Registering candidates onto the DVSA website ready for their theory test and admit them for test when they are ready to take their tests
  • Producing weekly theory test schedules for new apprentices joining the company.
  • Invigilating theory test sessions in strict accordance with the DVSA guidelines as detailed above
  • Monitoring those that pass and fail tests, and rebook candidates that fail and are given a subsequent test/s
  • Organising refresher training for candidates that may need it
  • Sending out all correspondence to candidates/apprentices regarding theory testing
  • Other administration duties as and when required.


The ideal candidate will also; -


  • Be an excellent communicator
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft office products.


This role will be full time 5 days a week. The annual salary will be £25,219 per annum based upon a 38-hour week. The successful applicant would need to have a flexible approach to start and finish times to meet business requirements. There may be an occasional requirement to work at weekends and you will be required to undertake a DBS check.
