Go-Ahead London is the capital’s largest bus operator, and we employ the overwhelming
number of our 8,000 people at 17 garages, mostly in South East, South West, North East and
East London. An award-winning company with a well-regarded industry reputation, we
have opened three new garages in the last five years and run a quarter of London’s iconic
red bus network on behalf of Transport for London (TfL) using 2,450 vehicles.
Go-Ahead London’s buses are on the Capital’s roads 24 hours a day and all our vehicles are
equipped with the latest technologies and innovations. We take exceptional pride in the
fleet, and we expect them to be maintained to the highest standards and ready to go into
service at a moment’s notice.
We are now looking to recruit a Senior Vehicle Engineer to be based at Bexleyheath
garage and we are looking for someone who will strive to provide reliable and effective
maintenance so we can ensure that we are able to deliver a reliable service that people can
trust, and which helps to create a London where every journey is taken care of.
We are looking for a ‘can do’ individual who is open and approachable, is happy and
comfortable working with a team but is able to be forward looking and both flexible and
adaptable to the changing business demands.
Ideally you should be qualified to City & Guilds level 3 or NVQ level 3 or equivalent and have
experience working on HGV or PCV vehicles. Additionally, applicants are required to hold a
PCV licence. If the applicant does not hold a PCV licence, training will be provided, and the
successful candidate will be required to work early/late shifts (38 hours a week) including
weekends and Bank Holidays as required.
The rate of pay for this post (CS20) is £923.24 per week.
We offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, 20 days’ holiday and travel pass
for London Buses and the Tube Network. If you feel you have the qualities needed and
