Who are we

Delegated Driving Examiner (Internal Vacancy)

Closes 28th November at 17:00pm.

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards in training and operational excellence, Go-Ahead London is seeking to appoint an additional Delegated Driving Examiner (DDE) to join our Driver Training & Development (DMI) Team.

This role is key to ensuring the continued smooth and efficient running of the Recruitment & Training Academy and supports our succession planning for future examiner capacity.

Due to a current national backlog with the DVSA Delegated Driving Examiner courses (estimated waiting time of approximately 10–12 months), we intend to appoint and train a suitable candidate in the interim to deliver Module 3A and Module 4 tests, until a place becomes available on the full DVSA Delegated Examiner course.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support the DMI Team by:

  • Conducting Module 3A (off-road) and Module 4 (practical demonstration) tests.
  • Invigilating DVSA approved n house Theory Tests.
  • Supporting driver assessments and maintaining high testing and training standards.
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of safe, professional, and compliant driving across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated PCV driver or trainer looking to progress their career within driver training and development.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Have held a valid, unrestricted PCV licence (Category D) for a minimum of three years.
  • Have no current penalty points or endorsements on their driving licence (this must remain the case to attend the DVSA course).
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Highway Code, PCV regulations, and company driving standards and procedures.
  • Have an excellent attendance record, with no current disciplinary entries for breaches of company rules, regulations, or driving standards.
  • Show strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within a training, development, or assessment environment.
