Recruitment Assistant
As part of an exciting change in how we manage asset presentation, Go-Ahead London is now directly employing Bus Cleaners across our garages. To support this growth, we are recruiting two Recruitment Assistants to be based at our Recruitment & Training Academy in Camberwell, playing a key role in attracting, coordinating and onboarding these essential frontline colleagues.
The Role
The Recruitment Assistant will support the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding of Bus Cleaners across multiple garage locations. This is a fast-paced, high-volume recruitment role requiring strong organisation, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
You will work closely with Recruitment Business Partners, garage management teams and the Asset Presentation function to ensure vacancies are filled efficiently, compliantly and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and coordination support for the recruitment of Bus Cleaners across Go-Ahead London garages
- Manage high-volume applications, including shortlisting, interview scheduling and candidate communication
- Coordinate pre-employment checks, right-to-work documentation and onboarding processes
- Liaise with garage managers and site teams to confirm workforce requirements and start dates
- Maintain accurate recruitment records using internal systems and trackers
- Support recruitment events, open days and assessment activity where required
- Ensure recruitment activity aligns with Go-Ahead London policies, procedures and the Go-Ahead Way (GAW)
- Respond professionally to candidate queries and provide a positive candidate experience
- Assist with wider Recruitment & Training Academy administration when required
Skills, Experience & Attributes
The ideal candidate will:
- Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal
- Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Be confident working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Have previous administration experience (recruitment administration desirable but not essential)
- Be able to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume recruitment environment
- Have a professional, friendly and proactive approach
- Be willing to learn and support all aspects of recruitment activity
Previous experience in recruitment, HR or a high-volume operational environment would be an advantage, but full training will be provided.
Working Hours & Location
- Based at the Recruitment & Training Academy, Camberwell
- Monday to Friday, hours to be discussed.
- Flexibility will be required to support recruitment activity, with occasional early starts, late finishes or weekend working
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £35,000 per annum
