We are looking for a Fleet Planning Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and strategic oversight of our fleet operations.

Based at Merton Head Office, this role sits at the centre of engineering and operational planning. You will work closely with senior engineering leaders, operational teams, and group colleagues to ensure fleet movements, vehicle lifecycle planning, and infrastructure coordination are delivered efficiently and aligned with contractual commitments.

  • Oversee the planning and coordination of both PSV and ancillary fleet movements across the network.
  • Manage fleet commissioning and decommissioning processes.
  • Coordinate vehicle allocations and movements as vehicles enter and exit the fleet.

Fleet Lifecycle Management

  • Plan and coordinate fleet refurbishment programmes.
  • Monitor contractual vehicle commitments and ensure fleet plans remain aligned with operational requirements.
  • Support the selection and introduction of new vehicles when required, working with group colleagues to progress orders and delivery schedules.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Coordinate fleet planning alongside infrastructure requirements to ensure readiness for fleet deployment.
  • Maintain strong working relationships across departments to support effective fleet management.

Reporting & Performance

  • Manage reporting for fleet campaign works and keep stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Provide clear documentation and presentations of fleet plans to support operational decision-making.
  • Work closely with the Fleet Systems Manager to ensure planning data is reflected accurately in fleet systems.

Leadership & Support

  • Report to the Area Engineering Manager while working closely with the Area General Manager to ensure operationally optimised fleet plans.
  • Deputise for the Fleet Systems Manager when required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Planning & Coordination Skills: Strong ability to organise complex fleet movements and programmes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to implement, document, and present operational plans clearly to stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align fleet planning with operational and contractual requirements.
  • Attention to Detail: High levels of organisation and accuracy when managing fleet data and planning schedules.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working with engineering, operational, and commercial teams across the business.
  • Fleet or Engineering Experience: Experience within transport, fleet management, engineering operations, or logistics planning is highly desirable.
