If so, we are looking for a Yard Controller at Northumberland Park to oversee morning vehicle movements and support our daily service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor all vehicle and pedestrian movements, ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Ensure all colleagues, contractors and visitors wear correct PPE and use designated walkways. Oversee bus allocation, ensuring safe and efficient departures. Oversee charging status of buses and ensure an effective strategy of charging is being delivered. Report any serious incidents immediately to the relevant manager. Liaise with engineering teams to resolve vehicle defects quickly. Communicate with iBus at our operations control centre (OCC) to report delays that may impact service. Ensure pre-service checks on Tranzaura are completed and audited. Oversee garage parking and vehicle movements to maintain safety standards at all times.

Strong communication skills to work effectively across departments. The ability to challenge unsafe practices and support continuous improvement.

A confident decision-maker who can take control of vehicle and pedestrian safety. A proactive problem-solver who can adapt to changing situations. A people focussed individual

Knowledge of Tranzaura, Betterfleet and bus allocation is an advantage, but full training will be provided.

 

This is role where flexibility is required to meet operational needs, shifts include mornings, middles and nights.
