👤 About the Role
The Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day coordination, oversight, and performance of staff to ensure consistent delivery of the Go‑Ahead Way (GAW) cleaning standards. This role provides leadership, guidance, and hands‑on support to ensure safe working practices, high-quality presentation standards, and operational readiness across all asset presentation activities. The Supervisor will also act as deputy for the Site Manager during periods of absence and deliver on-the-job training for all team members.

🔧 What You’ll Do

• Lead, supervise, and support members of staff across various shifts.
• Allocate daily tasks, manage priorities, and ensure completion to GAW standards.
• Conduct briefings, toolbox talks, and communicate updates to staff as directed.
• Monitor staff attendance, performance, and shift coverage to ensure consistent standards daily.
• Deliver on‑the‑job training and competency development to all cleaning and shunting staff via the train the trainer approach.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and environmental procedures in line with company policies, procedures and practices.
• Undertake quality inspections and maintain accurate records in line with the company policies and procedures.
• Manage operations in Site Manager’s absence.

💼 What We’re Looking For

• Experience in cleaning, transport, shunting, facilities, or operational roles.
• Experience in supervisor or team leader roles.
• Demonstratable leadership skill and knowledge
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH, and operational standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
• This will be a busy and physically demanding role therefore a good level of fitness is required.
• Flexible approach to shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Good communication and collaboration working with team and garage management.
• To undertake any additional duties at the request of your line manager, which is deemed to be within your competency.
• PCV license holder or shunter trained (Desirable) (Preferred if shunting supervisor)
